From my heart to yours
I am a music therapist.
But that doesn’t mean I know music best.
It just means that I have the training and knowledge to guide you to comfort and connection. I have the education to know that music has been used as a healing agent since Bible times and developed into a professional service after WWII. It is studied, researched, and implemented in a clinical capacity in schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, hospices, and more.
Music is this thing we share, and it holds meaning from the past, present, and future. It may inspire change, motivate growth, and facilitate connection. It is something that is both heard and felt.
Music can articulate feelings that words can’t, and it activates the brain in a way where the brain can repair itself (neuroplasticity).
I am honored to be a music therapist, and hold the MT-BC certification. The intersection of music and medicine is magical.
Join me as I share stories, poems, and thoughts about clinical music therapy from the experience of a certified music therapist.
